The G-type star, otherwise known as the class G star, was a class of main sequence stars characterized by their yellow color and with surface temperatures ranging from 5,000 to 6,000 Kelvin. On United Earth and United Federation of Planets star charts, stars belonging to this class were identified by a yellow circular symbol. Sol was an example of a G-type star. (ENT: "Cold Front"; PIC: "Disengage")
A Vissian starship of the 22nd century was capable of entering the photospheres of most G-type stars, thanks to its trinesium hull. (ENT: "Cogenitor")
In 2152, Enterprise NX-01 followed the warp signature of a Tellarite bounty hunter, Skalaar, to a G-type star, only to find that it was a decoy subspace beacon. (ENT: "Bounty")
The Calindra system in the Delphic Expanse was a G-type star system. (ENT: "Proving Ground")
The Sigma Draconis system in the Alpha Quadrant was a G-type star system. The system's primary, Sigma Draconis, was a gamma-9 star. (TOS: "Spock's Brain")
In the 2340s, during a system survey of Minos Korva, the USS Exeter identified the star Minos Korva as a class G star. (TNG-R: "Chain Of Command, Part II")
In 2350, Magnus and Erin Hansen crash landed their ship, the USS Raven, on an M-class moon orbiting the fifth planet of a yellow dwarf located in B'omar space. (VOY: "The Raven")
The Dyson sphere discovered by the USS Enterprise-D in 2369 surrounded a G-type star. (TNG: "Relics")
In an alternate 2370, an anti-time eruption had an energy output equivalent to ten G-type stars. (TNG: "All Good Things...")
Ocampa, in the Delta Quadrant, was a planet located in a G-type star system. (VOY: "Caretaker")
A G-type star system with two inhabited planets was part of Vidiian territory in 2372. The USS Voyager traveled through a plasma drift to avoid detection from the Vidiians. (VOY: "Deadlock")
On stardate 49485.2 Voyager visited Hemikek IV, a planet in the Hemikek yellow dwarf star system. (VOY: "Investigations")
The planet dubbed "New Earth" by Kathryn Janeway orbited a yellow dwarf as the third of seven planets. (VOY: "Resolutions")
Similarly, the planet Mislen was located within a yellow dwarf star system. (VOY: "The Swarm")
The subspace sinkhole found in the Delta Quadrant led to a subspace pocket containing a G-type star and three planets. (VOY: "Gravity")
The uninhabited planet selected by Seven of Nine for the surviving Vaadwaur in 2376 orbited a G-type star. (VOY: "Dragon's Teeth")
In 2378, Seven noted that Voyager's sensors detected two G-type stars in a region of space believed to be under the control of the R'Kaal. (VOY: "Renaissance Man")
