History

The Federation founded a colony on Umoth VIII.

Between 2368 and 2373, this system was in the Demilitarized Zone.

In 2370, the planet's system moved over to the Cardassian side of the zone, with the Cardassian Union taking over governance of the Umoth system. (DS9: "The Maquis, Part II")

In the 3190s, Umoth VIII was a Federation member. (SA: "Kids These Days")

Stellar cartography

In 3195, this system's position was labeled on a Federation star chart which was displayed in Starfleet Academy's Stellar Cartography laboratory. (SA: "Beta Test")

In 3196, during the Omega-47 crisis, the location of Umoth was depicted on star charts and readouts used across several locations on the USS Athena to locate, monitor, and respond to the Omega-47 mines laid by the Venari Ral. This system was outside the affected region. (SA: "300th Night", "Rubincon")
