A sealing was the Khionian term for a wedding ceremony. Traditionally held on Sunset Moon, it was a private occasion involving the Jvera (groom), the Ucha (bride), their respective ko'zeines (assistants) and immediate families, and the officiating priest; any larger celebrations would take place on a different date. After the sealing was completed, the two ko'zeines would each deliver a toast to the couple.

During the All-Worlds Day break in early 3196, Kaira had her fiancé Darem Reymi transported to Sunset Moon via Khionian marital abduction for their royal sealing, which had been moved forward due to her parents' early abdication from the throne. Quill served as Kaira's ko'zeine, while Jay-Den Kraag was roped into that role for Reymi. Immediately after the sealing, Kaira asked Reymi to abdicate so that they could annul the marriage, as she had realized that his true desires lay with Starfleet and not with her. (SA: "Ko'Zeine")
