The Trivas system was a star system in the Alpha Quadrant. This system was no more than three light years from the Bajoran system.

This was a single star system with a M-type primary.

History

In the 24th century, this system was inside Cardassian space. The station Empok Nor was in this system and was operated by the Cardassian military until 2372 when it was abandoned by the Cardassians in that year.

The system did not feature prominently in the Dominion's plans for the Cardassian Union. (DS9: "Empok Nor")

Stellar cartography

In 3195, this system's position was labeled on a Federation star chart which was displayed in Starfleet Academy's Stellar Cartography laboratory. (SA: "Beta Test")

In 3196, during the Omega-47 crisis, the location of Trivas (Empok Nor) was depicted on star charts and readouts used across several locations on the USS Athena to locate, monitor, and respond to the Omega-47 mines laid by the Venari Ral. This system was outside the affected region. (SA: "Rubincon")

Information on the system's stellar system came from the Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 46) and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Stellar Cartography", pp. 18-19; "Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"). In the latter source, it was stated that on a map of the Cardassian Union – prepared by an anonymous astrography clerk, from the Cardassian Central Archives, in 2364 – that Trivas was identified as a Cardassian system.
