New France was an inhabited planet in the Alpha Quadrant.

History

This world was home to the Federation colony New France.

In the 32nd century, New France was a Federation member planet. It was listed with other members on a video wall in the USS Athena. (SA: "The Life of the Stars")

When the Venari Ral laid Omega-47 mines around the core of Federation space in 3196, this planet was within the enclosed region. (SA: "Rubincon")

Stellar cartography

In 3195, this planet's position was labeled on a Federation star chart which was displayed in Starfleet Academy's Stellar Cartography laboratory. (SA: "Beta Test")

In 3196, during the Omega-47 crisis, the location of New France was depicted on star charts and readouts used across several locations on the USS Athena to locate, monitor, and respond to the Omega-47 mines laid by the Venari Ral. (SA: "300th Night", "Rubincon")

This planet was only mentioned in writing.
In the Star Trek: Star Charts ("United Federation of Planets I") and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("History of the United Federation of Planets"), New France was listed as a Federation member in 2378.
From the same sources, New France's system was depicted as a binary system with a K-type star and a G-type star. Furthermore, this system was shown to be in the vicinity of the Arachnid Nebula.
