Nearby inhabited star systems included the Talar, Galen, Gamma Trianguli, Alpha Majoris, Scalos, and Algol systems. The system was located less than a light year from zero point, the location in the Xahea system where Commander Michael Burnham opened a wormhole to the 32nd century at the climax of the battle against Control in 2258.

This system contained six planets. In the habitable zone of this system, there was the planet Kiley 279, the M-class homeworld of the Kiley species.

History

In 2255, The USS Archer and the USS Enterprise went to this system, where they made first contact with the the Kiley species.

When the Venari Ral laid Omega-47 mines around the core of Federation space in 3196, this system was within the enclosed region. (SA: "Rubincon")

Stellar cartography

In 2259, the location of this system was labeled on a stellar cartography chart that was seen on the USS Enterprise's ready room viewscreen. The system's symbol had a white color, indicating its status as a non-aligned system. (SNW: "Strange New Worlds", "Children of the Comet")

On stardate 1292.4, the location of this system was labeled on a star chart used during a Section 31 Alpha Team briefing. (Star Trek: Section 31)

In 3195, the position of Kiley was labeled on a Federation star chart which was used in Starfleet Academy's Stellar Cartography laboratory. (SA: "Beta Test")

In 3196, the location of Kiley was depicted on star charts and readouts used across several locations on the USS Athena to locate, monitor, and respond to the Omega-47 mines laid by the Venari Ral. (SA: "300th Night", "Rubincon")
