System 892, also known as FGC-892, was an inhabited planetary system that was located in a Beta Quadrant sector.

This system was home to a pre-warp civilization.

Components

Stellar system

It was a single star system consisting of a G-type primary.

Planetary system

In this system, there were at least four planets. In the system's habitable zone, there was the Class M planet 892-IV, which was the homeworld of the civilization. (TOS: "Bread and Circuses")

History

In 2262, the survey vessel SS Beagle became the first Federation craft to chart the surrounding star sector. During the course of its mission, the Beagle was badly damaged by a meteor near star system 892, before ultimately seeking refuge on the fourth planet. The USS Enterprise later found the wreckage of the Beagle in this system in 2268. (TOS: "Bread and Circuses")

When the Venari Ral laid Omega-47 mines around the core of Federation space in 3196, this system was within the enclosed region. (SA: "Rubincon")

Stellar cartography

In 3196, this system's position was labeled on a Federation star chart which was displayed on the main viewscreen of the USS Athena bridge. (SA: "Ko'Zeine")

In 3196, during the Omega-47 crisis, the location of FGC-892 was depicted on star charts and readouts used across several locations on the USS Athena to locate, monitor, and respond to the Omega-47 mines laid by the Venari Ral. (SA: "Rubincon")
