Simperia was a planetary system in the Alpha Quadrant. This system was in Cardassian space.
Components
Stellar system
This was a single star system with a M-type primary, with at least one orbiting planet.
History
During the Dominion War, the Cardassian Liberation Front set up one of their bases on the planet Simperia in this system. This base was targeted and destroyed by the Dominion. (DS9: "The Dogs of War")
Stellar cartography
In 3196, during the Omega-47 crisis, the location of Simperia was depicted on star charts and readouts used across several locations on the USS Athena to locate, monitor, and respond to the Omega-47 mines laid by the Venari Ral. This system was outside the affected region. (SA: "300th Night", "Rubincon")
Information on the system's star came from the Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 46) and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385").
In the latter source, it was stated that on a map of the Cardassian Union – prepared by an anonymous astrography clerk, from the Cardassian Central Archives, in 2364 – Simperia was identified as a Cardassian system.
