When the Venari Ral laid Omega-47 mines around the core of Federation space in 3196, the remnants of this system were within the enclosed region. (SA: "Rubincon")

Stellar cartography

This system was in close vicinity to the Romulus system and the Federation-Romulan border. (TOS: "Balance of Terror")

In 2259, Romii's position was seen on a stellar cartography chart seen on the USS Enterprise's ready room viewscreen. The location's symbol had a green color, indicating that it was affiliated with the Romulan Star Empire. (SNW: "A Quality of Mercy")

During the Neutral Zone Incursion of 2266, the location of Romii was labeled on a star chart of Sector Z-6 that was displayed on the bridge viewscreen of the USS Enterprise. (TOS: "Balance of Terror", display graphic)

On stardate 1292.4, the location of this system was labeled on a star chart used during a Section 31 Alpha Team briefing. (Star Trek: Section 31)

In 2401, this system's position was labeled on a star chart used by Captain William T. Riker during his attempt at finding the last known location of the SS Eleos XII. (PIC: "The Next Generation")

In 3196, during the Omega-47 crisis, the location of Romii was depicted on star charts and readouts used across several locations on the USS Athena to locate, monitor, and respond to the Omega-47 mines laid by the Venari Ral. (SA: "Rubincon")

Background information

This star system was only mentioned in writing.

The Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 66, "United Federation of Planets II") and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"; "Position of the Romulan Star Empire") classified the primary of the Romii system as a K-class star. It was located in the Romulan War Theater of Operations (2156-60). The Romii system was identified as a Romulan system in a star chart created by Stellar Archive Artist Lsel Essik in 2366 for the Romulan Master Data Catalog.

Before Romii was identified as a star system in star charts for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, both the Star Trek Encyclopedia, 4th ed., vol. 2, p. 215 and StarTrek.com [1](X) stated that Romii was an alternative name for Remus.

The chart from the SS Eleos XII originated in the Star Trek: Star Charts and was modified for its appearance in the episode. Dave Blass published pictures of the set on his website.

Apocrypha

In the Star Trek Maps (p. 29), Romii was an early Romulan colony. It was a white subdwarf orbited by four planets, with only the inner planet inhabited, with a population of five billion.
