Background information

This star system was only mentioned in writing.

The location of this star system was seen on the bridge of the SS Eleos XII on what appears to be an updated chart from Star Trek: Star Charts. Dave Blass published pictures of the set on his website.

According to Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 66) and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), teh Hakkona system was a binary system in the Beta Quadrant. This system consisted of a pair of G-class stars.

Apocrypha

The planet Haakona Prime, and its native Haakonans, appears in the ENT novels Beneath the Raptor's Wing and To Brave the Storm. In a scene in the latter, set in 2157, the Romulans conquer the Haakonans by deploying the Loque'eque virus, thus freeing up resources to be concentrated in the war against Earth. This event implicitly provides an explanation for the TNG starship's name.
