The Acamar system, also known as the Theta Eridani system, was an inhabited planetary system located in a sector of the Beta Quadrant.

Components

Stellar system

This was a binary star system with both the primary Acamar (the proper name for Theta 1 Eridani) and its companion Theta 2 Eridani being A-type stars.

Planetary system

In this system, there were at least three planets, including Acamar III. Located in the system's habitable zone, this planet was the homeworld for the spacefaring Acamarians. (TNG: "The Vengeance Factor"; DIS: "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad")

History

In 2257, during the Federation-Klingon War, this system was occupied by the Klingons. (DIS: "The War Without, The War Within")

When the Venari Ral laid Omega-47 mines around the core of Federation space in 3196, this system was within the enclosed region. (SA: "Rubincon")

Stellar cartography

The Acamar system was visible from Earth in the constellation Eridanus. This system was approximately 165 light years from Sol.

In 2259, the location of this system was labeled on stellar cartography charts that were seen on the USS Enterprise's viewscreens. This system's symbol had a blue color, indicating that it was affiliated with the United Federation of Planets. (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds)

Later that year, the location of Acamar was displayed on a star chart on a PADD, used to plot a potential course through the Chantico Nebula. (SNW: "Under the Cloak of War")

On stardate 1292.4, the location of Acamar was labeled on a star chart used during a Section 31 Alpha Team briefing. (Star Trek: Section 31)

The system's location was labeled in a Federation star chart that was in Fleet Admiral Kirsten Clancy's office at Starfleet Headquarters in 2399 and on the bridge of the USS Titan-A in 2401. The Acamar system was in or near to neutral space. (PIC: "Maps and Legends", "The Next Generation", "Disengage")

In 3196, this system's position was labeled on a Federation star chart which was displayed on the main viewscreen of the USS Athena bridge. (SA: "Ko'Zeine")

Later that year, during the Omega-47 crisis, the location of Acamar (Theta Eridani) was depicted on star charts and readouts used across several locations on the USS Athena to locate, monitor, and respond to the Omega-47 mines laid by the Venari Ral. (SA: "Rubincon")

Appendices

Background information

"AWK-uh-mar" was the pronunciation for this star's name from the script's pronunciation guide.

Information on this system was derived from the episodes, from the reference works Star Trek: Star Charts and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library, and from real world sources. The reference works were used extensively in the creation of star charts seen in Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Star Trek: Prodigy, Star Trek: Lower Decks, and Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. The real-world information added to the article was current as of 2026.

Acamar, the primary of the Acamar system, was located in the Beta Quadrant on a star chart seen in the Star Trek: Discovery episode "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad".

The star Acamar was located inside the Mempa sector in the Beta Quadrant by StarTrek.com. [1](X)

Apocrypha

This star was mentioned as a destination in Pocket TOS: The Wounded Sky, and (with the "Theta Eridani" name) in Marvel TOS: Experiment in Vengeance! where the second planet in this system had a moon named Mycena. Neither of these depicted the existence of the native Acamarian civilization on the third planet.
