The Markab system was visible from Earth in the constellation Pegasus. It was approximately 133 light years from Sol.
In 3196, this system's position was labeled on a Federation star chart that displayed the placement of Omega-47 mines by the Venari Ral around the center of the Federation in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants.
