In 2257, the system's location was labeled on the star chart showing the trajectory of Lieutenant Spock's shuttle. (DIS: "An Obol for Charon")

In 2259, the system's location was labeled on a stellar cartography chart seen on the USS Enterprise's ready room viewscreen. The system's symbol was a red Klingon Empire logo, indicating its affiliation with the empire. (SNW: "Children of the Comet")

In 2260, Y'tem was labeled on a star chart denoting the spread of a quantum uncertainty field across the region. It was outside of the area effect of the phenomena. It was marked as a Klingon system. (SNW: "Subspace Rhapsody")

In 2261, the location of Y'tem was depicted on a star chart used by the crew of the USS Enterprise to highlight the location of Vadia. It was labeled as a Klingon system. (SNW: "Through the Lens of Time")

This location was only mentioned in writing.
The name of this system came from the source material used, the Star Trek: Star Charts and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library, to create the star charts seen in both Star Trek: Picard and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. According to the Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Stellar Cartography", pp. 30; "Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), the primary of the Y'tem system was an M-class star.
