History

In the 24th century, this planet's system was on the outskirts of Cardassian territory.

During the Occupation of Bajor in this century, Bajorans settled refugee camps on this planet.

In 2368, Bajoran Resistance leader Orta maintained his hidden base on Valo Ic, the third moon of Valo I. Based on a tip from Keeve Falor, the USS Enterprise-D traveled to Valo I and made contact with Orta, who informed them that the Bajorans were not responsible for the attack on Solarion IV. (TNG: "Ensign Ro")

This planet's quadrant of origin was inferred based on the position of the Cardassian Union in the star chart appearing in the Star Trek: Picard episode "Maps and Legends".
In the script, the pronunciation for Valo was "VAH-lo". [1]
