This page outlines the rules and guidelines that apply to the use of document files on Memory Alpha. They are not absolute, for the most part, but it is generally expected that they be observed unless there is a good cause for ignoring them.

The basic overview:

• The rules and guidelines as outlined in the file use policy also apply to document files.
• The only supported document format is PDF.
• Make sure to categorize all PDFs in Category:Memory Alpha PDFs or one of its subcategories.
• Fair-use PDFs should be used sparingly, if at all. It is preferable to use public-domain, freely-licensed, or exclusively-licensed PDFs.
