History

In the 24th century, this planet was in Cardassian space.

This planet was home to a civilian outpost with a small subspace relay station.

Less commonly known, Loval was home to a secret weapons research installation operated by the Cardassian military. This facility was targeted by a Klingon Bird-of-Prey commanded by K'Temang in 2372. Gul Dukat, aboard the freighter Groumall, anticipated K'Temang's intentions and set a trap for him in Loval's orbit. (DS9: "Return to Grace")

This planet's quadrant of origin was inferred based on the position of the Cardassian Union as seen in the star chart appearing in the Star Trek: Picard episode "Maps and Legends".
