The Kasqians were a species of sentient photonics from the planet Kasq.
The Kasqians originated as servitor holograms created long ago by a race of organics. After they departed, the abandoned holograms eventually developed self-awareness and built their own civilization. With no direct experience of organic lifeforms, the Kasqians were apprehensive about engaging with broader galactic society, lest they be exploited again. Thus, in 3195 they created Series Acclimation Mil and sent her to Starfleet Academy to comprehensively understand organic behavior and determine whether they could be trusted.
