The First Men on the Moon was an oil painting made by the American space artist Robert McCall. This painting, completed in 1971, honored the achievements of the Apollo 11 mission. It depicted Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the surface of Luna, with the lunar module Eagle in the background and Earth in the lunar sky. One of the astronauts was depicted as standing next to, and touching the pole of, the American flag.

In the 2270s, a copy of this painting was displayed inside the officer's lounge of the USS Enterprise. (Star Trek: The Motion Picture)
