The Xindi-Insectoid scout ship was a type of warp-capable scout ship used by the Xindi-Insectoids. The vessel was much smaller than most Xindi ships, and only carried a crew of three.

Armament and Specifications

The Xindi-Insectoid scout ship was armed with a pair of forward under-slung particle energy beam weaponry including a single aft beam cannon for offensive and defensive purposes. (ENT: "Hatchery") The vessel is equipped with shields, although it shields weren't very strong. (ENT: "Hatchery")

While small, the Xindi-Insectoid scout ship was fast and agile. (ENT: "Hatchery")

History

In the only known recorded encounter, a ship of this type attacked the United Earth starship Enterprise during its mission in the Delphic Expanse in early 2154. It proved no match for the NX-class starship and tried to escape while firing back, but Enterprise caught up with it and completely destroyed it via firing a volley of Photonic torpedoes to prevent the Xindi-Insectoids from reporting their position. (ENT: "Hatchery")

In the final draft script of "Hatchery", the only physical description of the Insectoid scout ship was that it be "small". Despite this, the craft's destruction was scripted to be shown with "a massive fireball", though the on-screen explosion is much more contained.
This ship type appears in the video game Star Trek Online as the "Castroi-class" fighter ship, and is deployed by the Xindi-Insectoid starship (named the "Olaen-class Heavy Escort Carrier" in-game).
