The workpod was a small utility spacecraft utilized by the Federation in the late 24th century.

They were larger than workbees, but appeared to serve a similar function, being repair vehicles with long manipulator arms.

In 2379, after the Battle in the Bassen Rift, the USS Enterprise-E was taken to a spacedock above Earth. There, the ship was repaired by workpods. (Star Trek Nemesis)

Background information

The workpod was designed by Darryl Anka, a long-time model maker for the franchise, who was reportedly "so giddy and thrilled" to have his original design approved for inclusion into the film's final scene. Concept art for the design included a single-seat version labelled "spacedock workpod" and a two-seat version with a rear cargo tray labelled "spacedock work pod 'pickup' loader".[1]
