mithril has been a Trekkie for more than half of his life. As a kid, he would often build toy starships out of whatever he could find, and always tuned in to watch episodes whenever he could (and still does both of those things). In particular, he loved to watch Deep Space Nine, and had enjoyed The Next Generation.
The name, mithril, is borrowed from the secret orginization in the Full Metal Panic anime, which was named for the fictional metal.
