DYKBot handles these cases easy peasy:
* ("The Corbomite Maneuver", "The City on the Edge of Forever"; Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home) No series NO PROBLEMO! DYKBot gets it from the database!
* (ENT: "Horizon"; Twilight") episode list separated by ; not , NO PROBLEMO! DYKBot will detect "Twilight" as ENT and merge the lists!
* (TOS "The Cage") NO PROBLEMO! DYKBot needs no stinking pooper!
* ("Star Trek: First Contact", DS9: "Valiant") chunk seperated by , instead of ; NO PROBLEMO! DYKBot will re-chunk!
DYKbot handles these cases, but not ideally:
* (TNG: "Unification I" & "II")
** Gets: (Unification I)
* (TOS: "Charlie X", "Tomorrow is Yesterday"; Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home; et al)
** As "; et al" is left as a literal, as ", et al" it is dropped (see below).
Im fairly confident, these are handled:
* (DS9 Season 7; VOY: "Message in a Bottle")
** Gets: (DS9 Season 7; Message in a Bottle), A chunk with no film or episode link in it gets left in place while the other chinks get processed.
* (TNG Season 1 DVD Special features)
** Gets completely left alone
DYKBot doesn't handle these problems:
* (TNG: "Unification, Part I") <--- PROBLEMO!! That's not a real episode says DYKBot!!
* (TOS: "Elaan of Troyius" deleted scene) <---- PROBLEMO!! DYKBot drops the "deleted scene" part. Anything else that is in a chunk with at least one valid episode link gets dropped, as it operates right now.
* (DS9: "Homefront"; brothers established in DS9: "Paradise") Same as above, Gets: (Homefront)
This last problem is a real problem, because it will make a "reference" out of any parenthetical phrase that has an episode link in it, and drop all the other text. I'm not sure how this one will be fixed. This halts work. :(
:These problems were handled. For the first one, DYKBot firsrt made a list of episode redirects so that it could fix them. For the second one, several cases were handled, like "remastered", and others were just left so they wouldn't be messed up. For the third, those were all simply left in place. Only a few dozen of them exist. --Bp 09:43, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
