Star Trek: The Next Generation is an electronic LCD keychain game developed by Stadlbauer and published by Take 2 as part of the Nintendo Mini Classics brand in 2000. While many titles in Nintendo's Game & Watch series received ports as Mini Classics, Star Trek: The Next Generation is an original game, though the gameplay is still evocative of that found in the Game & Watch series. It was released exclusively in Europe and is the only original title in the Mini Classics line made in the dual screen format.
Gameplay
Game screens
Gameplay starts on the bottom screen similar to that of Space Invaders, with the player using the USS Enterprise's phasers to destroy waves of Klingon ships. Once a wave is defeated, Worf will beam down to attack a Klingon base and attempt to free a prisoner on the top screen. This must be completed before the player can resume control of the Enterprise, hopefully in time before the next wave of ships arrives.
