Sandoval was a member of the USS Enterprise-D crew.
Sometime in 2366, she was hit by a disruptor blast. Sandoval lived for about a week after being wounded, before eventually dying due to her injuries.
William T. Riker reminded Worf of Sandoval's death in 2368 as he was contemplating suicide, and how she was an example of an honorable person who did not resort to death when faced with a crippling injury. (TNG: "Ethics")
