The Ryton system was a star system in the Beta Quadrant. In the early 25th century, the system was located just beyond the edge of Federation space, at coordinates 76.38/55.64/4.68.

Components

This system contained a small nebula, named the Ryton Nebula, whose physical characteristics interfered with sensors and long-range communications.

In 2401, the SS Eleos XII hid from unknown attackers in the Ryton system; Doctor Beverly Crusher sent a distress call to Admiral Jean-Luc Picard containing her coordinates, disguised with the codeword "Hellbird". Subsequently, Picard and Captain William T. Riker, with the assistance of Commander Seven of Nine, arrived at the system aboard the USS Titan-A and found the Eleos. Shortly after, they were confronted by Vadic aboard her ship, the Shrike. Outgunned yet unwilling to accede to Vadic's demand to surrender Jack Crusher, the Titan fled into the nebula with the Shrike in pursuit. (PIC: "The Next Generation", "Disengage")
