Patton Oswalt (born 27 January 1969; age 57) is an actor and comedian who voiced Spot 73 in the Star Trek: Picard second season episode "Penance" and played Doug in the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds third season episode "Four-and-a-Half Vulcans".

He co-wrote the Star Trek: The Original Series/Star Trek: Deep Space Nine story "I Knew You Were Tribble When You Walked In (β)" from the comic Star Trek, Issue 500.

Oswalt is best known for his recurring role as Spence Olchin on The King of Queens (1998-2007, with Merrin Dungey, Dakin Matthews, Nikki Tyler, Pamela Kosh, Rachel Dratch, Daniel Roebuck, Albie Selznick, Robert Ito, William Daniels, Earl Billings, George Coe, and Jeff Austin) and his voice role as the Narrator on The Goldbergs (2013-23, with Artemis Pebdani, Paul Sorvino, Scott Lawrence, David Bowe, and Brent Spiner).

He also appeared in recurring roles in Reno 911! (2004-20), United States of Tara (2009-11), Two and a Half Men (2012-13), Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2014-20), Veep (2015-19), Will & Grace (2019-20).

He also voiced Remy in Ratatouille (2007, with Michael Giacchino) and various characters in the animated series BoJack Horseman (2014–20, with Paul F. Tompkins, Fred Tatasciore, Wendie Malick, Wallace Shawn, Phil LaMarr, Rachael Harris, Diedrich Bader, and Sam Richardson).

He won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special for Patton Oswalt: Talking for Clapping (2016) and a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album for Talking for Clapping (2017).
