memory alpha

The term orphan refers to any page that is not linked to by any other pages on its wiki. Although such articles can still be found by searching Memory Alpha, it is better for them to be accessible via links from other articles. It's important to build the web by ensuring that all pages on this wiki have links to and from other (appropriate, relevant) pages. Ideally, all articles should be reachable through a series of links that start from the main page.

Certain exceptions to this rule include pages that are archived and their subpages, talk pages, redirects, and disambiguation pages.

If you encounter an orphaned article, you might want to try searching Memory Alpha for pages that mention the article's subject and add links on those pages pointing to the orphan. If you don't want to do this, you can instead bring attention to the article by adding the {{orphan}} template near the article's top, so other archivists will notice and add links to the article.
