Matt Roe (1 January 1952–9 October 2003; age 51) was the actor who appeared as Latha Mabrin in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine fifth season episode "The Darkness and the Light". He was born in New York City, New York, USA.
Roe had previously appeared on such television series as Murder, She Wrote (with William Windom), Falcon Crest (with Jonathan Banks, Brett Cullen, and Robert Foxworth), Hill Street Blues (1987, starring James B. Sikking, with Lawrence Tierney, Marc Alaimo, Charlie Brill, David Selburg, Megan Gallagher and Daniel Zacapa), L.A. Law (1988, starring Corbin Bernsen, with David Selburg and Susan French), Wings (starring Steven Weber), Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1993 & 1997, starring Teri Hatcher, latter with Michael Keenan and Leonard Kelly-Young), Sisters (with Ashley Judd), Dark Skies (starring Tim Kelleher), Mr. & Mrs. Smith (starring Scott Bakula), and Gideon's Crossing (2001, with fellow Deep Space Nine guest star Deborah May).
Roe also appeared in the TV movies Baby M (1988, co-starring Stephen Liska, Bruce McGill, Julie Parrish, and Hélène Udy), The Neon Empire (1989, with Andreas Katsulas and Natalia Nogulich), The Great Los Angeles Earthquake (1990, with Ed Begley, Jr., Felecia M. Bell, Richard Herd, and Brock Peters), and Calendar Girl, Cop, Killer? The Bambi Bembenek Story (1992, with Ed Lauter, James Sloyan, and Susanna Thompson). His feature film credits include Puppet Master (1989, co-starring Jimmie F. Skaggs), My Blue Heaven (1990, with Ed Lauter, Bill Irwin and Carol Kane), Child's Play 2 (1990, with Gerrit Graham and the voice of Brad Dourif), The Unborn (1991, with Brad Blaisdell and K Callan), Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult (1994, with Marc Alaimo, Earl Boen, Bill Erwin, and Bill Zuckert), and Pentathlon (1994, with David Soul and Daniel Riordan).
Roe died of multiple myeloma on 9 October 2003. [1] His final screen credit was a guest appearance in an episode of Judging Amy, which also guest-starred Q actor John de Lancie.
