The Ketha class was a type of battle cruiser used by the Klingon diaspora during the 32nd century.
History
In an attempt to provide aid to the Klingon diaspora in a way that they would accept, the United Federation of Planets declared that any Klingon ships in the region of Faan Alpha would be considered enemy vessels. Understanding the ploy, in response General Obel Wochak returned the declaration of war, and summoned a fleet of nearby Klingon ships, including several Ketha-class ships.
The Klingon fleet engaged in a bloodless battle with the six Federation ships present, and then declared victory, claiming Faan Alpha as spoils of war. The Federation accepted these terms, and the ships of the Klingon fleet stayed at Faan Alpha to begin settling the planet. (SA: "Vox In Excelso")

Star Trek Online models, as borrowed for the show
This ship design was initially created for Star Trek Online by concept artist Hector Ortiz and ship artist Ian Richards. It was introduced into the game as the Ketha-class Recon Raptor in August 2018. It was described as being 368.8 meters in length, a "stealthy escort with a science flair", entering service in 2411. In partnership with Paramount, models for several Klingon ships from Star Trek Online were imported into the production of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, and used to fill out the Klingon fleet. This was announced by Star Trek Online in February 2026. In celebration, the ships were put on sale in STO's Zen Store. [2]
