E.P. Dutton is a publishing company, first established as a book retailer in 1852. It moved into publishing in 1864.

In the 1970s, E.P. Dutton produced the Star Trek Reader series, hardcover compilations of Bantam Books's series of Star Trek: The Original Series adaptations written by James Blish.

In 2011 it published the hardback edition of Shatner Rules, an autobiography of William Shatner.

The company was acquired by Dutch publisher Elsevier in 1975 [1] who sold it to investment company Dyson-Kissner-Moran Corporation in 1981. [2] New American Library acquired Dutton from Dyson in in 1985 [3] who was later acquired by the Penguin Group in 1986. [4] Penguin merged with Random House in 2013 to form Penguin Random House [5] which maintains Dutton as an imprint within its Penguin Publishing Group division.
